My baby is loving my shirt but the belt is a little too short for my belly right now. Is there a way to extend it safely?

Asked by: Casey
So happy to hear your baby is loving the Pocket! Yay! There isn't a safe way to extend the belt, however, you can purchase another size belt separately for if you'd like. If that's what you'd like to do, please send an email to and we'll get it all squared away for you!

Is there a minimum weight for baby to be worn safely in this?

Asked by: Kellie6234
Hi and thanks for asking! We’re proud to say that even the smallest of babies are safely worn in the Pocket. As soon as your little one is cleared for skin-to-skin contact, you may begin using the Pocket. For our smallest babies, who are tethered to lines and tubes, you need not place them inside the interior pocket as you will only be practicing skin-to-skin while seated. You can simply wrap and secure the two outer panels around you and baby for coverage. Once they have outgrown the need for monitors, you are ready to use the shirt as a carrier and should always place baby in the interior pocket when wearing them! Please let us know if we can provide you with any additional information. Always here to help!

Please help! Bought this shirt for my premie, now one month old baby. Bonding was interrupted due to time in the NICU so I really think this could help us, but I am not sure I have the correct size and can't seem to find how to nurse with it. Thanks!

Asked by: Jessica
Hi Jessica! Congrats on your sweet one! You're absolutely right — the Pocket is wonderful for promoting bonding and "feel-good" hormones between the two of you! In terms of sizing, it should fit quite snug so that it supports and holds baby securely in place. You don't want it to fit loosely as the material is made to hold baby close to your body, which gives them that secure, snuggly feeling and recreates the "womb-like" atmosphere they are so used to. If you have baby in the shirt and baby is not held tight to your chest, your Pocket is too big. Just let us know and we can exchange it for you if that's the case! In regards to nursing baby in it, it just takes a bit of practice. Try it while seated first to get the hang of it. Lift your breast and guide baby to latch. The wide interior pocket should provide plenty of room to angle baby to either side. Let us know how it goes and if you need any additional help, don't hesitate to call or email again!

If I am in between sizes do you recommend ordering up or down?

Asked by: BananaBean
Hi! We would recommend sizing down if you're in between sizes as the Pocket should fit snugly, both to support you and baby and to keep baby in the optimal position for skin to skin contact. But please know that if you buy the smaller size and find it's too snug – uncomfortably snug or you can't properly secure the Velcro closures – just let us know and you can exchange for another size!

Asked by: Mstivic
Hi! Congratulations! Based on your bra size, I'd recommend a 2XL. However, if you get it and find that you need another size, no worries, we can help you out with an exchange! Also, I see you're writing from Australia. While you can't order via our website for int'l (just yet!), you can email us at and we can let you know an estimate to ship to you, if you like! Cheers!

What does the inside of the shirt look like? How are larger babies held in place if it holds up to 45lbs? Are their leg holes for frog position? Just wondering mine is 4 mo./ 17lbs /26 in. Would love to get one of these if safe for larger babies

Asked by: Denise Gantenbein
Hi! Great question! The inside of the shirt is a pocket, stitched – very strongly – together at the bottom. Baby frogs his or her legs, either naturally, or with a bit of your help. There aren't leg holes, but there is plenty of room within the pocket for baby. Although it safely holds 45 pounds (adheres to all carrier/sling standards), we recommend you follow your baby and his/her cues. Often, by 4 – 5 months, babies are so interested in the world around them, they are developmentally ready to transition to a soft structured carrier and less interested in being held skin to skin. That said, every baby is different, so you know best what's right for your baby right now! Cheers!

Do you have a sizing guide for the pocket shirt?

Hi Cara! Yes, we do have a size guide! There is a link to it on the Pocket page, underneath the Available Colors header. Please let me know if you have any trouble finding it or with the actual info. Cheers and thanks so much for thinking of us!
