NüRoo would like to give a proud shout out to the start of 2103 World Breastfeeding Week (WBW), beginning today through 8/7. The theme this year is Breastfeeding Support: Close to Mothers and we could not be more delighted that it’s in line with our brand message Closest to Mom: Best for Baby.
Research proves that immediate and frequent skin-to-skin contact improves breastfeeding initiation, duration and exclusivity rates. Additionally, women are likely to have success with their breastfeeding goals if they have adequate support. Since we launched the NüRoo Pocket a year ago, we’ve made it our mission to educate, support and empower moms.
Since this year’s WBW theme is all about getting and giving support, we’re sponsoring several “Latch On” events across the country, including hosting one in our home state of Rhode Island.
On Friday August 2nd and Saturday, August 3rd mom’s all over the world will get together to breastfeed their babies at the same time. The Big Latch On is informed by the principles of community development – providing an opportunity for nursing women to get together in their local communities to normalize, support, encourage + celebrate breastfeeding. Find a location near you and show your support! At 10:30am all locations will tally the number of women breastfeeding for a worldwide count.
